Cristiano Ronaldo left European football and joined Al Nasr in Saudi Arabia. The 37-year-old Portuguese star has signed a contract with the Asian club until 2025 & will get a salary of 7.5 million dollars every year. As a result he will be the highest paid footballer in football history.
Ronaldo said in a statement from Al Nasr on Friday, “I am thrilled to experience a new football league in a different country” . Referring to Saudi Arabia’s victory over Argentina in the World Cup in Qatar, Ronaldo also said, “Saudi Arabia’s recent World Cup success shows that the country’s football goals are very big and there is a lot of potential.”

Ronaldo, who started his senior career at Sporting CP in 2002, was last one and a half years at Manchester United. On the eve of the start of the World Cup, he made several ‘explosive’ comments about the club’s coach, top officials and owners. Joining Al Nasr, Ronaldo said, “I’m lucky, I’ve won everything I’ve played for in European football. Now is the right time to share that experience in Asia.”
Ronaldo’s new club Al Nasr plays in Saudi Arabia’s Pro League & is the second most successful in Saudi history after Al-Hilal.
